I’ve been using the Youducar 11.5” radio for about a month now, and one of my favorite things about it is that it gives me options beyond just CarPlay. Since it runs Android, I can download apps directly to the radio that either aren’t available through CarPlay or don’t give you their full functionality through CarPlay.

There are definitely some apps that I still prefer using through Apple CarPlay, but I love having the choice. I’m not locked into doing everything one way. If something works better through CarPlay, I use CarPlay. If I want the full Android app running directly on the radio, I can do that too.

Another feature I really like is being able to put a SIM card directly into the radio and give it its own cellular connection. Having the radio connected without needing to rely on my phone makes the Android side of it much more useful, especially when using apps directly on the head unit.

The screen itself is also a huge upgrade. At 11.5 inches, it gives me a lot more room to work with, and the whole system is extremely customizable. One of my favorite features is the card-style home screen because I can arrange the widgets and information around how I’m actually using the Jeep. I can set it up one way for everyday driving and have the information and shortcuts I want readily available when I’m using the Jeep for something different.

That customization is probably what I like most about the radio overall. Instead of feeling like I just replaced the factory screen with a bigger version of the same thing, it feels like I added an entirely new system to the Jeep. Between the larger display, Android apps, CarPlay, cellular connectivity, widgets, and all the different ways I can configure it, I can make the radio work around how I use the vehicle instead of the other way around.

I’ve had to figure out a few things along the way along the way, but after actually living with it for a month, I’m really happy with it. If you like being able to customize your setup and want more freedom than a traditional CarPlay-only radio gives you, that’s where I think the Youducar really stands out.

The compatibility is top-notch! All my original steering wheel controls work perfectly, no programming hassle. My factory backup camera plugs right in and displays crystal clear on the big screen.
I love the physical buttons at the bottom of the screen, super handy when driving, don’t need to tap the touchscreen while bumping on trails. Wireless CarPlay connects fast every time.
Only downside: shipping took longer than I expected, had to wait a while. But the product quality is solid, worth the wait if you’re upgrading your Wrangler stereo.
